Kinze Finger Pickup Seed Metering System.
Proven and dependable mechanical finger pickup design.
Precision-formed, spring-loaded, cam-operated fingers open and close, singulating each seed as the fingers rotate clockwise along the smooth, finished perimeter of the carrier plate. Each seed is deposited on an elevator-type conveyor belt, which delivers it to the seed tube and ultimately into the seed trench.
Crops Planted
The finger pickup meter is capable of planting both Seed Corn and Sunflower Seeds.
The Challenge.
Precision. At just 5 miles per hour, a planter on 30" rows, planting 30,000 seeds per acre, must meter a kernel of seed corn approximately every 1/13 of a second — from every single meter on the planter.
The Goal.
Consistent spacing (combined with controlled planting depth) for maximum yield potential.
The Key.
Simplicity. The simpler the process, the better the results. Kinze has refined and improved the system proven to be superior with all sizes and shapes of seed corn — and independent studies prove it.
The Advantage.
Kinze mechanical meters don’t need the in-field adjustments that are required for vacuum and air systems. They eliminate worries, such as which seed disc to use or how to adjust for variations: seed size, oil pressure, oil viscosity, changes in operating temperatures, humidity plus several other factors that can affect air or vacuum systems.
Kinze mechanical meters bring precision tooling and cutting-edge technologies of modern manufacturing to the seed trench with more accuracy, more dependability — and more simplicity — than any other metering system in the field today.
Precision Manufacturing and Testing.
No one does it like Kinze. All steel parts in the meter, with the exception of the springs and center shaft bearing, are precision-manufactured by skilled, dedicated machine operators with Kinze quality control. Every seed meter is put on a test stand and must perform to a minimum acceptable seed drop range before it leaves the factory.
Singulating Seeds For Sunflowers
Zero in-field adjustments. Precision manufacturing and testing. Simple to maintain. Long-lasting steel construction. Plants most seed sizes with ease.
The same precision and craftsmanship applies to producing fingers with smaller flags (see below) for planting No. 3 and No. 4 oil sunflower seeds. No. 1 and No. 2 confectionary sunflowers may be planted using standard corn fingers.
