Thanksgiving: Brought to You by Farmers

Kinze
As you enjoy time with your family this weekend, remember your holiday table represents more than just food and football. It represents generosity, gratitude, unity, tradition and above all — hard work. Every dish was prepared with care, but only after weeks (or months) of labor and sacrifice by farmers around the world. This year we're encouraging you to say thank you to the farmers that work so hard everyday to feed the world.

Measuring Seed Spacing Accuracy

Kinze
Accuracy Then and Now Twenty-five years ago, when farmers went to the field to plant, the planting monitor on the tractor was typically equipped with simple indicator lights showing seeds were actually getting to the ground. If a seed tube became plugged, the monitor alarm would sound, and the problem could be resolved. However, this “data” only monitored activity and did not actually measure anything — seed populations were still a function of using the correct combination of gears on the ground drive system, and digging in the dirt to confirm. In the late 1990s, significant improvements were made to seed tube sensors and monitors, and the actual number of seeds planted could be counted. For the first time, real-time...

Kinze
“Kinze has been on our farm a very long time and I don’t see it going away,” shares Troy Adam of Richland, Iowa. “My mom and dad - their first Kinze product I believe they had - was an 840 grain cart. And I remember running that grain cart when I was a little boy on the weekends for Dad.”  Now Troy and his family have a 4900 planter that follows in the tire tracks of the many other pieces of Kinze equipment owned by the Adams. Troy describes his experience with the 4900 as, “The 4900 - we had a great experience with! Besides the seed meter and how awesome it has been, I also like how the planter...

Maintain Your Kinze Grain Cart to Keep Harvest Rolling Strong!

Kinze
It's hard to believe that shortly we will be headed back out to the fields with an army of combines, tractors, grain carts and trucks to get the crop out. Typically the combine gets the majority of attention when preparing for harvest, but performing some pre-season preventive maintenance on your grain cart will help to ensure a smoother harvest. Make sure its ready to roll by following these maintenance tips. INSPECT AUGERS FOR NOTICEABLE WEAR This is key because over time augers will become smaller in diameter and diminish their overall performance. Inspect for wear especially where grain transitions from the horizontal to vertical auger, or from the lower to upper portion of the vertical auger. These grain transition zones are...
